Zel's parents are TOO hard on him and I don't like it

This is Zel's second week in college. Zel studies ALL the time. Well, he had a test last week and he was up day and night working hard to pass it. He got too stressed and flunked it. His teacher told him he could make it up no problem. Zel was upset about it. He told me and I supported him and told him it was okay and to work harder on the second one and to listen to his teacher and not to worry. Zel's parents are moving to this island near Japan and they're gonna get Zel his own apartment here so he can continue to go to school. His step monster is rubbing it in his face "We're going to move! I can't wait to move, but how are you going to take care of yourself? you're going to be alone and you wont know what to do" and upsetting him more. His dad is going to wire money from where they will be to Georgia where Zel will be. Well, he told his parents about the test he failed (by 2 points) and they were both like "You're blowing the only chance at a career you'll ever have! You need to study more and quit being lazy!" Zel told me that his family doesn't support him. They just look at his mistakes and point them out and throw them back in his face. Zel told me that I was the only one supporting him and giving him encouragement. I told him thats not right cause when you don't get encouragement and all you get are your mistakes thrown back in your face, that'll discourage you more. I told him that if they were to be a little more supportive and not rub everything in his face and blame him for everything, then he'd do better. Stress can cause a person to fail too. I wish they would see that they're hurting him. A LOT! and I DON'T like that one bit.
